Alfa Lift: Steel cut ahead of schedule

The Alfa Lift design vessel is the largest, most innovative, and efficient, custom-built foundation installation vessel ever conceived. On the 1st March, six weeks ahead of schedule, OHT CEO Torgeir E. Ramstad and Alfa Lift Project Manager Bjarne Birkeland visited the China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) facility in Jiangsu (Haimen close to Nantong) to take part in the Steel Cutting Ceremony. The Ceremony marks the first major milestone in bringing the vessel to the market. Also present were CMHI General Manager Mr. Wallace Yao, and other senior CMHI Management.

Today we celebrate the cutting of the first of many steel plates that will make up this exceptional vessel. Along side us are many of the world-class sub-suppliers whose products and technical solutions contribute to making the Alfa Lift design a true game-changer. This project is genuinely unique in its innovation and collaboration – we are taking the wind industry to the next level.

Torgeir E. Ramstad, CEO OHT
