Join us at the cutting edge of the Offshore Wind Industry
OHT is a specialized heavy transport and installation contractor, building on Norway’s long and proud heritage in maritime innovation. We have been successfully executing complex projects on behalf of our customers since the company was founded in 2006. We serve clients from a wide range of industries including Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind and Marine Infrastructure. Handling oversized and challenging cargoes is our trademark, and we are proud of having transported well over a hundred-and-fifty jack-up drilling rigs for the majority of rig-owners globally.
OHT is building the world’s largest heavy lift offshore wind foundation transport and installation vessel. Alfa Lift is our response to the increasing demand for efficient transportation and installation solutions within the offshore wind market. With this vessel OHT is evolving from a transportation provider to a full transport & installation (T&I) contractor.
As we evolve, we will experience significant growth, but will maintain the values and principles of a small yet dynamic company – characterized by varied assignments and close links between the office and on-board environments. Our operations take place on all continents. We offer a very stimulating workplace with operations undertaken on all continents. We have a diverse, dynamic and dedicated workforce with a very low turn-over rate.
We are currently looking to fill two staff positions in our Oslo office:
1 x T&I Project Engineer – Senior
1 x T&I Project Engineer – Junior
One of our great competitive advantages is the flexibility and versatility of our engineering team members. Our new project engineers will fit right into this team with a broad spectrum of skills. They will use their creativity and ingenuity to plan marine transport and installation projects and will be at the center of a small team of specialized engineers.
We foster a work environment that seeks to develop personal growth by allowing employees to go to site to attend projects during key phases and to work closely with the operations team to better understand in-field requirements and local limitations.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Take an active part in tendering, engineering, and execution phases of our T&I projects within traditional and renewable energy projects.
- Work within a project team and as part of the general OHT staff.
- Travel to clients, subcontractors, vessels or work sites worldwide.
- Share and gain knowledge in our commitment to continuous improvement.
Higher education within naval architecture, marine engineering or mechanical engineering
The project engineers will be responsible for, or interacting with, engineers and operational staff of different specialties and must have the curiosity and interest to engage actively with all to deliver the most elegant solution for the team and our clients.
To stay ahead, the company needs candidates who are innovative, yet at the same time rational and able to focus on workable solutions when under pressure.
Poor communication is the cause of many problems. Our engineers must be outgoing and have the desire to find and share information from other project members both inside and outside the company. All formal communications are in English. An excellent command of both spoken and written English is essential as we strive to deliver the highest quality service to all our clients.
Experience and skills
The ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience for the Senior position, and at least 5 years of experience for the Junior position.
The senior position candidate will be autonomous and able to supervise all engineering activities in an installation project. The candidates will have gained a majority of their experience from offshore installation projects. Both candidates will have a mixture of both office-based and on-board experience.
