MV Osprey transported TEMIS to Gabon
MV Osprey transported the compact semi-submersible (CSS) accommodation unit TEMIS from Singapore to Gabon during August 2018.
TEMIS with her 9,800 mt was floated on to Osprey’s submerged deck and lifted out of water according to the planned procedure under the supervision of Load Master Bartosz Kozinski. The 84 x 32 m large footprint landed on the pre-installed cribbing within the 5 cm tolerance.
During Osprey’s voyage across the Indian Ocean, the contractual discharge location was changed to Gabon upon Charterers request. Procedures for the operation were re-planned and adjusted to accommodate the new discharge location. The operation in Gabon was efficiently carried out within 24 hours of arrival and at minimum cost, by allowing TEMIS to be discharged using her own propulsion and therefore avoiding the hire of costly harbour tugs.
From Gabon, the TEMIS sailed under her own propulsion to Nigeria, where the charterers, Drake Maritime, will operate the flotel for the contract period.
